Administration philosophy  

     As one of the most populated cities in Taiwan, Taoyuan is a modern metropolis best suitable for living and recreation. In order to build Taoyuan into "Beautiful Taoyuan, Joyful City", I shall, in collaboration with the city government team, make this a reality through the following four dimensions: living quality re-improvement, cultural Taoyuan promotion, social welfare, and a sustainable and environmentally health city. In doing so, we can fully demonstrate the vivacity, vigor of life and solid competitive power of Taoyuan City through well-planned hardware construction and comprehensive and cultural activities.

Living Quality Re-improvement

     A comfortable and convenient living environment is always the prerequisite for a joyful city. Apart from the basic infrastructure, such as flat road surface, functioning streetlamps and unclogged gutters, the city government team plans various hardware facilities every year to provide citizens with a quality living environment. These include townscape beautification, sewer renovation and construction, flood area improvement, sidewalk restoration, improvement of the student commutation corridor, Nankang River realignment (by phase), and construction of Taoyuan into a peach blossom spring waterfront by integrating waterfront ecology and park landscaping.

Cultural Taoyuan Promotion

     To develop culture and promote cultural construction are the basics and the most essential part in making cultural Taoyuan a reality. In practice, all-citizen education and lifelong education are promoted and enforced to enhance the competitiveness of Taoyuan City. Also, character education is promoted, library collection is enriched and reading is encouraged in order to enhance soft power. Additionally, cultural asset conservation and the tudigong (earth god of wealth and merit) are enforced and promoted, and different kinds of exhibitions and performances are organized to enrich the cultural dimension of Taoyuan City.

Social Welfare

     Social welfare is an important indicator of the living standard and living quality of a place. As a result of environmental and demographic changes, it is necessary for the government to provide multifaceted social welfare and services to citizens. In practice, we team up with volunteers and civilians to set up care locations for the elderly, promote active aging learning, care about the rights and benefits of women and children, and concern ourselves with underprivileged groups. Furthermore, social resources are integrated to organize various charity learning events to realize the ultimate concept of social welfare: helping the weak and aiding the poor.

Sustainable and Environmentally Health City

    The commitment to a beautiful living environment has been driven by both the city government team and myself. Therefore, we enforce a low-carbon lifestyle, increased park construction for each park with one additional feature, and planned a bikeway network to encourage citizens to tour Taoyuan by bike. In environmental protection, we enforce garbage reduction, resource recycling, enhance environmental awareness, and promote convenient and energy-saving environmental policies in order to make Taoyuan a model environmentally healthy city in Taiwan.
