Resulted from rapid economic development, Taoyuan has transformed from an agricultural to an industrial city. Presently, there are only 913.92 hectares farmland. To better utilize this limited farmland for more production, the City Government continues subsidizing farmers to purchase agriculture machine, and guiding farmers to improve farming techniques and developing quality agriculture. Other measures are also adopted: diversification of agricultural management and promotion for rice food. The conduction of leisure farm is providing people with alternative leisure activities.
　To add , there are many department stores, supermarkets and international restaurants in the city. One can say that these manufactories and companies have manifested Taoyuan as a dynamic and diversified city.
